Tomorrow is National Fossil Day!

  1. One item on my List of 100 Dreams is to take a family vacation to a dinosaur bone site and spend a week digging up fossils.  Here is a list of fossil parks in the United States.
  2. Speaking of animals who lived a long time ago, this piece presents the evidence for woolly mammoths on a few islands living millennia longer than their mainland relatives, and new hypotheses for their eventual extinction.
